About the course
This entry-level qualification prepares you for assistant coaching roles in community-based sport clubs and organisations. You’ll build practical skills to support a coach and engage participants safely and effectively, including preparing equipment, assisting with planning and delivery of sessions, supporting conditioning training, and helping monitor and evaluate activity sessions. It is a Certificate III focused on sport coaching practice. The programme builds patient care fundamentals, clinical assistance skills, and health workplace practice.
Career outcome
Graduates may work or volunteer in assistant coaching and instructor roles across community sport settings. Typical opportunities include assisting squads and teams, helping deliver coaching sessions for intermediate participants, and supporting the organisation of activities and equipment. Job outcomes listed include Assistant Squad Coach, Horse Riding Instructor and Junior Tennis Coach. This is a Certificate III pathway into sport coaching roles. Preparing graduates for nursing assistant, care worker, and clinical support roles, or degree articulation.
