Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade develops practical fabrication and welding skills for work in engineering trades. You will gain hands-on experience in metal fabrication processes and workshop practices aligned to industry standards. The course is offered through apprentice delivery only and supports entry into skilled trade employment in fabrication-focused engineering workplaces at Certificate III level. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.
Career outcome
Graduates may work as sheetmetal workers or fabricators, boilermakers, welders or welding technicians, and fabrication tradespeople. Employment opportunities span manufacturing, construction, shipbuilding, infrastructure, mining and industrial maintenance. With experience, you may move into supervisory roles, specialist welding work, or further study in engineering or fabrication technologies as a Certificate III engineering trades graduate.
