About the course

This entry-level qualification prepares you for work in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander primary health care. You’ll build foundational skills to support clients and communities in community, private, and public health settings, with a focus on culturally appropriate practice. The course is designed to help you start an Indigenous health care career pathway through practical, job-ready training in Health Sciences at Certificate III level. The programme builds patient care fundamentals, clinical assistance skills, and health workplace practice.

Career outcome

Graduates may seek entry-level roles supporting primary health care services for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples. Career paths can include Indigenous health care worker or support roles in community health organisations, clinics and health programs, as well as related positions in health promotion, administrative support within health services, and support work connected to aged and disability care. Outcomes align to work in Health Sciences at Certificate III level. Preparing graduates for nursing assistant, care worker, and clinical support roles, or degree articulation.
