About the course
This PhD is a higher degree by research focused on public health topics, supervised by academics from Deakin University and the University of Copenhagen. Candidates spend at least six months at each institution to gain exposure to international health systems and research practice. You will undertake an original research project and produce a substantial contribution to knowledge, typically over up to four years full time (or part time equivalent) in Health Sciences.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for research-intensive careers in academia, government and health organisations, and policy or evaluation roles in the public and not-for-profit sectors. The programme builds advanced research capability for work in public health and related areas such as health promotion, health economics, nutrition, and health service management. It can support pathways into postdoctoral research, university teaching, and senior analyst or research leadership roles in Health Sciences.
