About the course
Designed for working professionals and recent graduates, this graduate certificate builds capability in technology governance, focusing on how societies manage data governance, digital transformation and technological change. The program is suited to people working across government, policy and regulation, industry and civil society. Delivered online, it provides a pathway into further postgraduate study, including progression toward the Master of Technology Governance.
What you might learn
You will develop an understanding of contemporary issues in technology governance and how disruptive technologies are regulated in practice. The program builds practical capability to analyse regulatory and policy responses, consider governance and compliance challenges, and work across areas such as cybersecurity, privacy, data protection and digital economic activity. Learning is oriented to applying governance frameworks to real-world institutional and public policy settings.

Entry requirements
Applicants must meet ANU program-specific requirements and English language requirements. Standard entry is a Bachelor degree (or international equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 4/7. Applicants without this may be considered based on either at least 5 years’ relevant work experience in regulatory system design/monitoring/compliance/enforcement, or at least 10 years’ work experience at ANZSCO Skill Level 1, with supporting evidence required.
