About the course
This Graduate Certificate in Public Health introduces core public health concepts focused on improving and protecting population health and wellbeing. You’ll explore how practitioners work with individuals, communities and systems to influence social, organisational and political environments that shape health across the lifespan. An elective unit allows a chosen area of interest, and the course can provide a pathway into ECU’s Graduate Diploma and Master of Public Health.
Career outcome
Graduates can apply foundational public health knowledge to support health promotion and prevention initiatives across community, government and non-government settings. The course builds capability to contribute to programs that improve wellbeing for diverse populations and life stages, and to engage with broader determinants of health. It also supports progression toward more advanced public health study for roles with greater responsibility in population health planning and delivery.
