About the course
This graduate certificate helps practising physiotherapists deepen their understanding of pelvic health and build advanced skills in pelvic floor physiotherapy. Students study pelvic floor anatomy, assessment and treatment for conditions such as prolapse, incontinence and pelvic pain, with practical training in techniques including biofeedback, exercise therapy and electrotherapy. Learning is evidence-based and supported by hands-on physical assessments, clinical observation and case-based activities across people of all genders and life stages.
What you might learn
Students develop advanced clinical reasoning for assessing and managing a broad range of pelvic health conditions. The course aims to build practical competencies in selecting and applying pelvic floor interventions and outcome measures in real clinical contexts. It also strengthens skills in critically reviewing research evidence to inform best-practice pelvic health care.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue more specialised clinical practice in pelvic floor physiotherapy and continence care within private practice, hospitals and community health settings. The training supports roles working across women’s and men’s health, pelvic pain management, sports and musculoskeletal rehabilitation where pelvic health is a key component. It can also support progression toward further postgraduate study in pelvic health physiotherapy.
