About the course
Designed for midwives returning to practice after 5–10 years away, this Graduate Certificate refreshes contemporary theory and practical skills in midwifery and maternity care. You’ll engage with interdisciplinary health teams, build capability to provide culturally safe care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and diverse communities, and use simulation-based learning. The program supports a pathway back to registration and practice in midwifery. The programme develops advanced clinical reasoning, health leadership, and evidence-based practice for complex care environments.
Career outcome
This qualification supports returning midwives to rebuild an advanced knowledge base and complete professional experience placements in maternity units with industry partners. Graduates are prepared to meet required clinical experiences and progress toward practising again as a registered midwife.
