About the course
This is a prestigious program of coursework and research in either nursing or midwifery for high achieving students who have completed the Bachelor of Nursing and/or the Bachelor of Midwifery, or a comparable degree course. You will undertake research methodology training and carry out an independent research project in nursing or midwifery, working closely with a supervisor who will provide you with individual guidance and academic counselling. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.
Career outcome
These course outcomes are aligned with the Australian Qualifications Framework Level 8 and Monash Graduate Attributes. Upon successful completion of this course it is expected that students will be able to:1. critically review scientific literature in nursing and health or midwifery and health2. describe the processes involved in the design, development and implementation of a research project3. develop a proposal for a research project4. apply for ethical approval for projects, where necessary5. execute and analyse a research project, or a set of studies6.
