About the course

This fully online Graduate Certificate in Gerontology builds advanced understanding of ageing, gerontological theory and the policy frameworks shaping support for older adults. You will deepen skills in person-centred care, evaluation of care models and systems, and collaborative communication with older people, families and communities. The program also develops cultural capability, ethical reasoning and leadership for service improvement and workforce development in gerontology practice.

Career outcome

Graduates can support and lead improved services for older people across community, aged care and health settings. The qualification prepares practitioners to apply evidence-based, person-centred approaches, contribute to quality and safety improvements, and work collaboratively across disciplines and communities. It can strengthen capability for roles involving care coordination, program and service enhancement, policy-informed practice, and leadership in gerontology-focused organisations and teams.
