About the course
The Graduate Certificate in Forestry is designed for current forestry and related industry professionals to build essential capabilities for contemporary forest management challenges. Delivered through a collaboration of leading Australian universities, the course covers forest ownership and management, carbon forestry, plantation management and forest operations, and the trade-offs in providing forest products and services. Flexible delivery combines online study with intensive field-based experiences to suit working, regionally dispersed learners.
Career outcome
Graduates may progress into or strengthen roles across public and private forestry organisations, supporting sustainable forest management and decision-making. The course supports career development in areas such as plantation and native forest management, carbon and climate-related forestry initiatives, forest operations, and land-use planning at the agriculture–forestry interface. It also provides relevant grounding for roles contributing to forestry policy, sustainability and decarbonisation projects in government, industry and consultancy settings.
