About the course
This major, offered within Curtin’s Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours), focuses on the science underpinning sustainable agricultural production. You’ll build industry-relevant knowledge through practical learning, field trips and team-based projects, with opportunities for research experiences and industry placement. The major develops leadership and entrepreneurship alongside scientific training to address challenges such as food security and sustainable production in agricultural systems.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue careers across modern agriculture and related science-based sectors, applying skills in sustainable plant and animal production, technology and resource management. Typical roles include agronomist, agricultural scientist/technologist, agricultural manager or consultant, soil scientist, climate scientist, biotechnologist and agricultural/resource economist. Employment may be found in precision agriculture, breeding, marketing, supply chains, biosecurity, agricultural chemicals and international agricultural aid.
