About the course
This five-year full-time Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (Honours) provides a comprehensive and skills-intensive foundation for veterinary practice. You will build clinical problem-solving by integrating basic and clinical sciences, with strong development of communication and teamwork. Work-integrated learning features throughout, exposing you to companion animals, production and rural practice, critical care, wildlife, regulatory work and surgery in authentic settings. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for careers as veterinarians across a range of clinical and professional contexts. Pathways include companion animal practice, mixed and rural practice, production animal and herd health roles, emergency and critical care, and work with native wildlife. The work-integrated learning focus also supports careers in regulatory and biosecurity settings, animal welfare services, and broader veterinary and animal health sectors.
