About the course
This Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) (Honours) prepares you to engage and lead learners in Years 7–12 through contemporary, practice-focused study. You’ll develop curriculum and classroom management skills and complete substantial supervised professional experience (including extensive placement hours). The degree is available on campus and mostly online, with mandatory in-person participation for some core activities, as an undergraduate teaching qualification in secondary education.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for careers teaching in secondary schools (Years 7–12), with pathways across government, independent and Catholic sectors. You may work as a subject/learning area teacher, home group or year-level coordinator, or progress toward leadership and curriculum roles with experience. The programme also supports careers in education support, youth-focused learning programmes and related educational services as a Bachelor-level honours qualification in secondary teaching.
