About the course
This honours degree prepares you for social work practice focused on social justice and advocacy. You’ll explore social theory, politics and core social issues, and build skills to work with individuals, families and communities. Study is delivered on campus at RMIT’s Melbourne City campus with a strong emphasis on understanding systems and creating meaningful change in social work at bachelor honours level. The programme explores human behaviour, research methods, and applied psychology for community and organisational settings.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for roles across community and human services, government and non-government organisations, and advocacy settings. Career pathways include social worker, welfare officer, counsellor, case manager, community development manager and human services policy manager. The Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) supports entry into professional social work practice and related leadership and policy roles in the social work field. Preparing graduates for human resources support, community services, and psychology-related graduate pathways.
