About the course
This undergraduate specialisation explores international development challenges and the social, ethical and economic issues that shape people’s lives across regions. You’ll examine themes such as migration, labour markets and sustainable livelihoods, and critically evaluate approaches to planning and assessing development projects using real Asia-Pacific case studies. The specialisation is designed to complement a broader degree and strengthen humanities-focused insight within undergraduate study in development and social change.
Career outcome
This specialisation can support pathways into development-focused roles where understanding migration, livelihoods and project design is valued. Graduates may work with NGOs, community organisations, government and international agencies in areas such as development program support, project planning and evaluation, policy assistance, humanitarian and migration-related services, and community development. It is intended to broaden employability and add an international development lens to an undergraduate degree in the social sciences.
