About the course
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) at UNSW is a one-year advanced program that builds on prior science study through a focused research project and advanced coursework. You’ll work closely with academic supervisors, develop high-level analytical and scientific communication skills, and gain hands-on experience in designing and conducting research. This Honours year prepares you for specialised science careers and further research study in the sciences. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue roles that value research capability and advanced scientific training across government, industry and research organisations. Career paths can include research assistant/associate roles, laboratory or field-based scientific positions, data and analysis roles, or progression into higher degree research. The Honours year also supports pathways into postgraduate research and specialist science careers in the sciences.
