About the course

This Undergraduate Certificate introduces Antarctic and climate science through cross-disciplinary study developed with IMAS experts. You’ll explore climate change drivers and impacts, marine ecosystems, and the governance, treaties and laws shaping the Southern Ocean and Antarctica. Designed for online study, it builds foundational knowledge to understand and communicate how southern high-latitude regions influence Earth’s climate, oceans and weather in an undergraduate environmental focus.

Career outcome

Graduates may pursue entry-level or support roles across climate and environmental sectors, including marine and Antarctic research support, environmental consulting, government and policy teams, science communication, and conservation organisations. The course strengthens understanding of climate impacts, marine ecosystem threats, and Antarctic governance, helping you contribute to projects and organisations focused on climate adaptation, ocean management and polar-region policy in a short undergraduate environmental qualification.
