About the course
This degree develops practical and theoretical skills for careers in sport, recreation and outdoor education. You’ll build leadership, teaching and people skills through hands-on learning in areas such as outdoor leadership, exercise physiology, biomechanics, swimming and water safety, and human development and nutrition. It also provides a pathway into postgraduate teacher training for Health and Physical Education and/or Outdoor Education teaching. The programme develops classroom practice, curriculum knowledge, and educational psychology for teaching professions.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue diverse roles across sport, fitness and outdoor education settings. Career options include adventure guide, camping and outdoor educator, eco-tour guide, environmental education officer, group fitness instructor, sports administrator, sport development officer, facility or recreation officer, youth programs coordinator, and sport coaching roles. The Bachelor Degree supports employment in community sport, recreation and outdoor education industries, or further study toward teaching.
