About the course
This Science Education Major (Human Biology) within the Bachelor of Education (Secondary Education) builds strong human biology content knowledge alongside teaching methods for secondary classrooms. You’ll prepare to teach Human Biology in Years 11–12 and science across Years 7–12, while also developing a second teaching-area specialisation through a minor or broader science study. This is an undergraduate education and science teaching major. The programme develops classroom practice, curriculum knowledge, and educational psychology for teaching professions.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for secondary teaching pathways with a focus on Human Biology and broader Science curricula. The major supports careers teaching Human Biology (Years 11–12) and Science (Years 7–12), and strengthens capability to teach an additional specialist area depending on the second teaching specialisation chosen.
