About the course
The Master of Engineering prepares graduates with prior civil engineering study to qualify as professional engineers. You will build core knowledge in engineering science and practice, then develop advanced civil engineering capability across areas such as geotechnical engineering, structures, environmental and water cycle management, and transport systems. The course includes advanced electives, industry-guided research, and a 60-day (480-hour) professional placement in civil engineering at master level.

Graduates can pursue professional civil engineering roles designing, analysing and improving complex infrastructure and engineering systems. Typical pathways include work in consulting and contracting firms, government and utilities, and projects spanning geotechnical and structural design, water and environmental management, and transport systems.
