About the course
This double degree builds skills in nutrition and health promotion for improving food choices and health outcomes in community settings. You’ll learn to assess nutritional needs across individuals and populations, design and coordinate health promotion initiatives, and advocate for evidence-based policy and practice. The program also highlights the distinction between nutritionist roles and dietetics pathways. This is a Bachelor-level qualification in nutrition and health promotion.
What you might learn
You'll learn to use nutrition research and health promotion concepts to develop solutions for population health, critically analyse public health nutrition issues, and appraise evidence from multiple sources to design sustainable programs. You’ll build skills in professional and community communication, data and technology use for analysis, and ongoing professional development. You’ll also apply global perspectives, cultural awareness, and ethical leadership in project and program work.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles supporting nutrition and public health initiatives in community, government and non-government settings. Career paths may include nutritionist, health or nutrition project officer/consultant, health or nutrition policy officer/consultant, community development officer, environmental health officer, or health research officer. Employment is commonly found across nutrition services, public and community health, health education, government and social welfare. This is a Bachelor double degree in nutrition and health promotion.
