About the course
Deakin’s Bachelor of Nursing (Clinical Leadership) combines core registered-nurse preparation with extra leadership-focused study. You’ll build clinical capability in simulation centres and develop leadership potential through mentored experiences with nurse leaders and academics. Professional experience starts in first trimester and continues across the course, giving extensive supervised practice in varied health settings to prepare you for contemporary nursing workplaces.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared to work as registered nurses across acute and sub-acute services, medical and surgical wards, aged care, rehabilitation, community health and mental health settings. The added clinical leadership focus and mentored experiences support progression into team-leading responsibilities, quality and safety roles, and pathways toward management, education or research-focused nursing careers. This is a bachelor-level nursing degree with an emphasis on clinical leadership.
