About the course
Designed for qualified midwifery graduates, the Bachelor of Midwifery (Honours) builds advanced knowledge and research capability to strengthen midwifery practice. You will plan and undertake a supervised research project alongside coursework, developing skills to investigate real workplace issues and contribute to evidence-based improvements in maternity care. This is a Bachelor (Honours) qualification focused on midwifery research and practice development. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue advanced midwifery practice and broaden opportunities across maternity services. Career pathways may include roles in antenatal, postnatal and birthing care, as well as research, education, leadership, management and policy development. Midwives may work in public or private hospitals, caseload or group midwifery models, or progress toward higher degree research.
