About the course
UC’s Bachelor of Midwifery prepares you to support women and families through pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal period. You’ll build strong foundations in midwifery knowledge and professional practice with a focus on safe, woman-centred care and work-ready skills. Graduates are prepared for entry-level midwifery roles in healthcare settings through this bachelor-level midwifery qualification. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles as a registered midwife in hospitals and maternity services, including antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care. Career pathways may also include work in community and primary health settings, women’s health clinics and continuity-of-care models, supporting families across pregnancy and early parenting. This bachelor-level midwifery degree supports employment in midwifery practice and related maternal health services. Preparing graduates for nursing, allied health, and community care professional registration and graduate roles.
