About the course
The Bachelor of Midwifery (from 2027) prepares you to provide woman-centred care across pregnancy, labour, birth and early parenting. Co-designed with industry, the program builds contemporary knowledge through a blend of face-to-face and online learning. You will develop skills in high-tech simulation labs and complete supervised professional experience placements, with potential rural placement opportunities. This is an undergraduate midwifery degree in Nursing. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.
Career outcome
Graduates will be prepared to seek registration as a midwife (subject to accreditation/approval) and work across hospital, community and private settings, including continuity of care and homebirth contexts. Career pathways may include clinical midwife roles, clinical education, management, research or policy positions, and academic work in midwifery. This is a Bachelor-level pathway to professional practice in Nursing and midwifery. Preparing graduates for nursing, allied health, and community care professional registration and graduate roles.
