About the course
Delivered through the Australian Maritime College, this honours bachelor prepares you for maritime engineering careers with access to industry-linked training and research facilities. You choose a specialisation in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering, building capability in designing, constructing and operating marine and offshore structures. This joint award pathway is intended for students completing years 1–2 at Auckland University of Technology before continuing at UTAS in maritime engineering.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for professional work across the maritime and offshore sectors, applying engineering skills to vessels, marine structures and ocean environments. Career paths may include roles in naval architecture, ocean/offshore engineering, marine and coastal infrastructure, defence and shipbuilding, subsea and offshore operations, and renewable ocean energy projects. This Bachelor Degree / Honours Degree supports entry to engineering careers in the maritime industry. Preparing graduates for graduate engineer, project support, and technical design roles across engineering sectors.
