About the course
This mechatronics engineering honours degree combines mechanical and electrical/electronic engineering to develop intelligent machines and advanced manufacturing systems. You build an engineering science foundation in maths, mechanics, electrical engineering and computing, then progress to areas such as digital electronics, microprocessors, advanced materials and manufacturing, mechanical design, control and robotics. It emphasises practical projects, teamwork and industry-relevant problem solving in undergraduate engineering.
Career outcome
Graduates can work across automation and advanced manufacturing, integrating mechanical, electrical and control technologies to design and improve intelligent systems. Typical pathways include roles in robotics, industrial control and instrumentation, mechatronics design, manufacturing/process engineering, systems integration, maintenance and reliability, and project engineering for resource and service industries. This prepares you for professional practice as an honours-qualified mechatronics engineer.
