About the course
This undergraduate major in Marine Science develops knowledge and practical skills to help plan and manage human activities while protecting marine environments. You’ll explore marine ecosystems and the environmental challenges affecting coastal and ocean systems, with learning aligned to real-world management and conservation needs. The major is studied within approved Curtin double degrees such as BSc/BA or BSc/BCom, building marine science capability within a broader bachelor program.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue roles supporting marine and coastal management across government, consulting and industry. Career paths can include natural resource management, fisheries and aquaculture support, aquatic biomonitoring, conservation analysis, environmental planning and policy advisory work. Opportunities may also extend to regulatory and compliance roles (such as environmental inspection), consultancy and site ecology work in marine-influenced developments.
