About the course
This double degree combines legal training with a strong focus on social and environmental sustainability. You will build knowledge of sustainability challenges and how law, policy and institutions can respond, while developing core legal skills such as communication, critical thinking and research. The program also includes pro bono community legal engagement and is designed to prepare graduates for legal practice and sustainability-related roles in Australia and globally as a bachelor-level law qualification.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue pathways in law and sustainability across government, courts and tribunals, community and advocacy organisations, and corporate settings. Roles may include sustainability policy advisor, climate or environmental advocate, environmental/sustainability officer or advisor, and work with local or international NGOs and intergovernmental bodies such as the UN. With the required legal qualifications, graduates may also work as an environmental lawyer, reflecting a bachelor-level career pathway in law and sustainability.
