About the course
Integrated Dental Sciences is an undergraduate extended major designed for students offered an Assured Pathway into UWA’s Doctor of Dental Medicine. It provides a strong grounding in pre-clinical biomedical and dental sciences that underpin later clinical training. You’ll build the scientific knowledge needed for advanced study and preparation for professional dentistry through on-campus learning at UWA in Dentistry. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.
Career outcome
This undergraduate extended major is intended as a pathway into the Doctor of Dental Medicine, rather than a stand-alone professional qualification. After progressing to and graduating from the DMD, graduates may be eligible to seek registration as a dentist with the Dental Board of Australia. Registered dentists can work in private dental practices, public/government and hospital clinics, and other health services in Dentistry. Preparing graduates for nursing, allied health, and community care professional registration and graduate roles.
