About the course

This Economics major within Humanities and Social Sciences Education builds the content and teaching knowledge needed to teach Economics in Years 11–12 and contribute across the Years 7–12 Humanities and Social Sciences curriculum. You’ll develop pedagogical skills and select a second teaching area specialisation through a minor teaching area or broader HASS study. This is an undergraduate education major for secondary teaching in Economics. The programme introduces business strategy, finance, marketing, and leadership foundations for commercial organisations.

Graduates are prepared for secondary teaching pathways focused on Economics, with capability to teach across the Humanities and Social Sciences learning area in Years 7–12.
