About the course
The Bachelor of Economics at ANU explores how individuals, firms and governments make choices and how economies function. You study economic theory and applied economics alongside econometrics and transdisciplinary problem-solving courses. The degree builds strong quantitative and analytical capability to interpret real-world issues such as prices, wages, markets and policy, preparing you for work in economics and related fields.
What you might learn
You will develop a structured way of thinking about economic questions using core microeconomics and macroeconomics, economic modelling and econometric methods. The program strengthens quantitative reasoning, data analysis and evidence-based problem solving through higher-level economics courses and transdisciplinary options. You also gain skills in applying economic tools to policy, business and contemporary social challenges.

Graduates can pursue roles where economic analysis and quantitative problem solving are valued. Entry requirements
Entry is based on an ATAR selection rank of 80 (or International Baccalaureate 30) as an indicative requirement.
