About the course
This honours year builds advanced research capability in health and biomedical sciences through a substantial supervised project. You’ll strengthen skills in experimental design, data analysis and scientific communication while exploring a specialist topic aligned to RMIT’s research strengths. The course is designed as a bridge into biomedical research careers or further study, as a one-year Bachelor Degree / Honours Degree in biomedical science. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.

Graduates are prepared for entry-level biomedical research and technical roles in universities, medical research institutes, government and industry. Potential pathways include laboratory or research assistant work, technical officer roles, product or platform support in biotech and health technology, and progression to higher degree research.
