About the course
The Bachelor of Geographical and Spatial Science focuses on understanding environmental processes such as climate and hydrology and how they interact with landscapes and people. You’ll build skills in geographic information systems (GIS) and spatial data analysis to help address real-world challenges including climate change, population growth and land degradation. This is an undergraduate degree in environmental and spatial sciences. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for work applying GIS and spatial analysis to environmental and development challenges. Typical pathways include spatial scientist, GIS or geographic information specialist, and roles supporting planning and management in areas such as marine and coastal science, climate and weather, catchment and water processes, geography and environmental management.
