About the course
This honours engineering degree integrates electrical, electronic and computing engineering with modern control to design intelligent automation systems. You’ll study process control, industrial communications, PLCs, SCADA and PC-based control, progressing to advanced control of dynamic systems and manufacturing execution systems. A shared first year across engineering honours courses provides flexibility to switch disciplines. It is an AQF Level 8 Bachelor Honours Degree in engineering.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles designing and managing control, instrumentation and automation systems across process and industrial environments. Typical pathways include control and automation engineer, process control engineer, instrumentation engineer, and automation systems engineer, working on monitoring, production and manufacturing systems.
