About the course
This honours engineering degree focuses on designing sustainable solutions to environmental challenges. You’ll build expertise across water supply and treatment, waste management, environmental monitoring and sustainable energy, informed by chemical, civil and mechanical engineering. The course combines core engineering foundations, multidisciplinary projects, electives for specialisation and an honours thesis. It is a four-year Bachelor Degree / Honours Degree in environmental engineering.

Graduates can pursue careers developing and implementing sustainable engineering solutions across government, consulting and industry. Typical pathways include environmental engineer, water and wastewater engineer, sustainability or energy optimisation engineer, environmental monitoring specialist and roles in waste and resource recovery. Experience is strengthened through professional engagement activities and an honours thesis, supporting entry into professional engineering practice in environmental engineering.
