About the course
UNSW’s Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Chemical Engineering) prepares you to design and optimise processes that turn raw materials into valuable products safely and sustainably. You’ll build strong foundations in maths, chemistry and engineering science, then apply them to areas such as process design, energy, materials and environmental management through practical labs and projects. This is a 4-year Honours degree in chemical engineering. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles in process and production engineering across industries such as energy, resources, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and advanced manufacturing. Career paths may include process engineer, production engineer, design or project engineer, safety/environmental engineer, and consulting or operations roles, often working on efficiency, sustainability and scale-up challenges. This is a Bachelor (Honours) pathway into professional chemical engineering careers. Preparing graduates for graduate engineer, project support, and technical design roles across engineering sectors.
