About the course
This honours civil and environmental engineering degree develops professional engineering knowledge with an added focus on managing environmental impacts. You’ll study core civil topics such as design, materials, surveying, structures, hydrology and construction, plus specialist areas including risk assessment, water and wastewater systems, pollution control and sustainable design. A common first-year engineering unit set provides flexibility to change disciplines after first year. This is a Bachelor Honours Degree in civil engineering.
Career outcome
Graduates can work across civil infrastructure and environmental engineering projects, contributing to planning, design, assessment and delivery of sustainable solutions. Typical work spans structural and water engineering, hydrology and hydraulics, construction and site management, project management, and environmental risk and compliance. Roles may be found with consulting firms, contractors, government agencies and utilities involved in water, transport and land development. This prepares graduates for professional practice in civil and environmental engineering at Bachelor Honours level.
