About the course
This Mechanical Engineering specialisation builds knowledge in areas focused on the design, analysis and manufacture of machines and integrated systems involving moving solid parts and fluid flows. It is designed for students from other disciplines who want mechanical engineering content to broaden their expertise. Completion can provide a pathway to entry into Curtin’s Master of Professional Engineering (Mechanical Engineering), supporting postgraduate study in mechanical engineering.
Career outcome
This specialisation helps students from other engineering or science backgrounds add mechanical engineering capability relevant to industries working with machines, devices and engineered systems. It can support progression into the Master of Professional Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) and roles where mechanical engineering knowledge is valued, such as design and manufacturing, automotive and transport, energy and power generation, and maintenance or asset management in industrial settings.
