About the course

UOW’s Bachelor of Criminology examines why crime occurs and how societies respond, using contemporary research and real-world case studies. You’ll explore crime prevention, justice policies and the impacts of crime on individuals and communities, building analytical and communication skills. The degree provides a strong foundation for evidence-informed practice and study in criminology and criminal justice at bachelor level. The programme explores human behaviour, research methods, and applied psychology for community and organisational settings.

Career outcome

Graduates can pursue roles across criminal justice, community services and policy-focused organisations. Career directions may include advocacy and victim support, community and social services work, community corrections, court monitoring, policy analysis and evaluation, social policy development, market research, and administrative or business development roles in government and non-government settings. Outcomes align with a bachelor-level pathway in criminology and criminal justice.
