About the course
This Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs develops practical skills to support people experiencing alcohol and other drug dependency. You’ll learn approaches for providing client-centred support, working safely and ethically, and contributing to community-based health and social care services. Study is delivered on campus with a focus on real-world practice. This is a vocational qualification in alcohol and other drugs support work. The programme introduces counselling basics, community support skills, and behavioural science fundamentals.
Career outcome
Graduates may work in community and health services that support people affected by alcohol and other drug issues. Typical roles include outreach worker, case worker, community support worker and family support worker, assisting clients with assessment, referral and ongoing support. You may find opportunities in non-government organisations and community programs. This vocational qualification supports entry to alcohol and other drugs support roles.
