About the course
This degree, offered in collaboration with TAFE SA, is one of only a few costume design programs in Australia. You’ll learn to design and construct costumes for stage and screen, as well as areas like cosplay, children’s entertainment and dance. The course emphasises practical making skills, industry tools (including CLO 3D) and sustainable approaches, with opportunities to showcase work and collaborate across creative disciplines. This is a Bachelor-level program in costume design.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles creating and producing costumes for film, television, theatre, opera, live performance and related creative industries. Career pathways include costume designer and costume technician, working on professional productions and with performing arts organisations. Skills in design development, patternmaking, construction, fittings and collaboration support work in costume departments, wardrobe teams and independent practice. This is a Bachelor degree leading to careers in costume design and production.
