About the course
This Dean’s Scholar Bachelor of Computer Science majoring in Cyber Security is designed for high-achieving students who want to deepen programming and system design skills while tackling modern security challenges. You’ll study core computing concepts alongside cyber security-focused topics aligned to industry needs. The degree is delivered on campus at Wollongong over three years full-time (or part-time equivalent). The programme builds programming, systems thinking, and data skills for technology-driven industries and startups.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles focused on protecting systems, data and networks across government, consulting and technology organisations. Typical careers include cybersecurity engineer, security architect, information security manager, ethical hacker, digital forensics analyst and cryptographer. You’ll be prepared to work in security operations, risk and governance, incident response and secure software practices within the computing sector. Preparing graduates for software development, IT support, data analysis, and technology consultancy entry roles.
