About the course
The Diploma of Cyber Security at Victoria University builds foundational skills to help protect organisations from hackers and digital scams. You’ll learn practical approaches to identifying, preventing and responding to cyber threats, with exposure to areas such as ethical hacking, digital forensics, network security, threat analysis and incident response. This diploma can also provide a pathway into second year of VU’s Bachelor of Cyber Security. The programme delivers hands-on programming, networking, and technical support skills for IT employment.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue entry-level roles supporting cyber security operations across business and government environments. Typical opportunities include junior cyber security analyst roles, security operations or incident response support, vulnerability assessment assistance, and network or systems security support. You’ll be prepared to work with common security tools and practices and to contribute to monitoring, investigating and responding to cyber threats in IT & Computer Science workplaces.
