About the course

This double degree combines business with communication (journalism) to build both commercial capability and contemporary reporting skills. You’ll develop business knowledge in your chosen major while learning multimedia production, data-driven storytelling and ethical, socially aware journalism. Study across two QUT campuses with some units available online. It is an undergraduate double bachelor in business and journalism. The programme introduces business strategy, finance, marketing, and leadership foundations for commercial organisations.

Career outcome

Graduates can pursue roles across news and digital media while leveraging business expertise for specialist reporting and leadership. Career paths may include journalist or reporter (including finance, politics or international affairs), multimedia content producer, data or investigative storyteller, communications specialist, or media researcher. The business component also supports roles such as media executive, business analyst or strategy-focused roles in media organisations. Preparing graduates for business analyst, management trainee, marketing, and operations entry-level roles.
