About the course
This associate degree builds foundational knowledge and practical skills for disability and community practice, with a strong focus on inclusion, rights and quality of life. You’ll learn how disability services and systems work and connect theory to real-world practice, with online study options and placement/intensive components. The program can also provide a pathway into related bachelor degrees with credit. This is an Associate Degree in Sociology & Social Work. The programme introduces counselling basics, community support skills, and behavioural science fundamentals.
Career outcome
Graduates can apply disability practice skills across disability, health and human services settings, supporting individuals, families and communities to participate and thrive. Roles may include skilled disability practitioner, program coordinator, disability employment consultant, supervisor/team leader, learning facilitator or educator. Employment opportunities span disability support services, government/NDIS, non-government agencies, private providers and self-employment. This is an Associate Degree in Sociology & Social Work.
