About the course
The Associate Degree in Applied Policing (ADAP), delivered with the NSW Police Force, prepares you for entry into policing in New South Wales. You’ll combine online study with face-to-face training at the NSW Police Academy in Goulburn and operational placements at NSW Police Commands. The course builds critical thinking, communication and practical capability for real-world policing, as an Associate Degree focused on law enforcement practice. The programme introduces legal documentation, office procedures, and foundational legal knowledge for support roles.
Career outcome
Completing the distance (online) and Academy stages enables you to attest as a Probationary Constable in the NSW Police Force. You then continue on-the-job development while finishing remaining academic study during a 12‑month probationary period. After successful probation, you can be confirmed as a Constable, with opportunities over time to specialise across diverse areas of policing in NSW, supported by this Associate Degree pathway. Preparing graduates for legal clerk, paralegal support, and compliance assistant roles, or degree articulation.
