What is NAATI?

National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) is the standards organisation responsible for setting, maintaining and promoting high professional standards to issue accreditation for those who wish to work as translators and interpreters in Australia.

In order to get an extra 5 points for migration points test, there are 2 options:

1. Credentialed Community Language (CCL) Test

For those who do not wish to work as a translator or interpreter and are seeking CCL points only.

Steps to take:

  • Take classes to prepare for CCL test (if necessary)
  • Book test date to sit for CCL test
  • Claim 5 points for migration points test
2. Complete Internal NAATI-Approved Australia Course

For those who wish to work as a translator or interpreter in Australia.

During the NAATI-Approved courses by specific universities/institutions, there will be assessments of a similar level to a NAATI accreditation test.

Candidates need to achieve the relevant score to be recommended for NAATI accreditation.
