About the course
This degree is the coursework component of the combined Master of Veterinary Studies/Master of Veterinary Clinical Studies that makes up the Veterinary Science clinical residency program. You complete 48 credit points of supervised elective study while enrolled in an approved clinical stream, and you must be concurrently enrolled in the Master of Veterinary Clinical Studies. The Master’s program supports advanced, supervised clinical training in veterinary science.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for advanced clinical practice and specialty training pathways within veterinary medicine through supervised residency-style study in a chosen stream (such as small animal, equine, livestock, anaesthesia, imaging, pathology or emergency and critical care). The qualification supports progression toward specialist clinical roles in hospitals, referral centres, universities and research/diagnostic services. This Master’s program develops higher-level clinical capability in veterinary science.
